Good morning, Jaguars! Today is Patriot Day, where we recognize the events of September 11, 2001. Each year, on the anniversary of that tragic day, we pause to remember those lost during the September 11 attacks. We also celebrate those who served and supported, both that day and in the weeks and months and years after. First responders, police officers and fire fighters and EMTs. Our brave men and women in the US military. Everyday, ordinary, unknown citizens who just helped. Our elected officials. The masses of people who, for no other reason than it’s what we do, we support each other and save each other and love each other, the masses of people who helped us rise from the events of September 11, Patriot Day is for them, too.

In honor of our great nation, in remembrance of those lost on September 11, 2001, and in celebration of the heroes who brought us through and made us stronger, please join us today in recognizing Patriot Day.

Good afternoon Jaguar parents, families, and staff!

This is Brandon Koger, principal at Hobbs Middle, with an important update about our School Improvement Plan (SIP) and accountability reports.

The Hobbs Middle SIP is now available for review. Under Florida law, each school must submit a SIP for approval by the School Board. These plans outline goals and strategies to increase student achievement.

Our SIP was developed in collaboration with teachers, staff, parents, guardians, community members, and students. It has already been reviewed by our School Advisory Council and is currently being peer-reviewed by the district’s Office of Continuous Improvement. Now, we invite your feedback.

📄 Review the SIP here: https://aptg.co/0vVFGr

In addition, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires schools to share annual reports on student achievement, accountability, and subgroup data. These reports are also available for you to review at the EduData website: https://edudata.fldoe.org/index.html.

If you have any questions or feedback about the SIP or accountability reports, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly at kogerb@santarosa.k12.fl.us. The deadline for comments and feedback will be Friday, September 4th, 2026.

Thank you for your continued partnership in helping Hobbs Middle grow and succeed!

💚 Spreading Positivity at Hobbs! 💛

We had an incredible turnout this afternoon for the first meeting of our Erika’s Lighthouse Club! It was exciting to see so many Jaguars choose to stay after school and be part of something focused on making our school an even better place.

The mission of our Erika’s Lighthouse Club is simple but powerful: spread positivity, promote kindness and inclusion, build community, and make sure every student knows they belong at Hobbs Middle School. 🐆

A huge thank you to Ms. Hodge, our club sponsor, for giving our students the opportunity to lead this work and make a positive difference on our campus. We’re excited to see the ideas, activities, and acts of kindness this group brings to our Jaguar family this year!

💚 Want to join? It’s not too late! Students can pick up an application and turn their completed application in to Ms. Hodge.

We’re proud of these Jaguars for choosing to be a light for others. Kindness matters. Inclusion matters. Community matters. 💚💛

Hello Jaguar Families,

For your convenience, our Department of Health nurses will be offering the Flu Mist vaccine here at our school on Monday, September 28, 2026. Your student should have brought home consent forms and information in their beginning of the school year paperwork. The consent form, which includes a front and back page, must be completed and returned to the school by Tuesday, September 8, 2026, for your student to receive the Flu Mist vaccine on campus during our vaccine clinic. Please review this packet, complete both the front and the back of the consent form and return it to the school by 9/8/26 if you wish to take advantage of this convenient opportunity. This year, our health department will be administering the nasal Flu Mist vaccine to every age group of students. No student will receive a vaccine without a properly completed consent form.

Thank you and have a good day.

Jaguar Parents and Families,

At Hobbs, we believe that no student should ever worry about going hungry. A full stomach means a ready mind, and making sure our Jaguars are fed is one of the most important ways we can support their success.

That’s why we’ve partnered with Feeding the Gulf Coast to provide weekend food backpacks for our students. This program is open to all students, no questions asked and no income requirements—because every child deserves the security of knowing there’s food at home.

🍎 Weekend Food Backpacks
• First distribution: Friday, September 4
• Each backpack includes food to help stretch meals at home and snacks for two days.
• Sign up here: https://tinyurl.com/2nfzyxxp

🥫 Hobbs Food Pantry
In addition, our on-campus food pantry provides nutritious, easy-to-prepare food, snacks, drinks, toiletries, and personal hygiene items.
• Available weekdays (focused on dinner items).
• Available weekends (via backpacks).
• Support can be provided once, occasionally, or all year long.

✨ Most important: Do NOT go hungry!
If your student—or your family—needs support with meals, please let us know. We are here to help in any way we can.
